Success!

Just wanted to let everyone know my exciting news! I have been working to get a aquaponics system in on campus at The Evergreen State College. My project has been approved! We will be installing a system at the Organic Farm and this system will be utilized in the Spring 2012 Practice in Sustainable Agriculture Program as the first project in the new Urban Agriculture Component. I also applied for funding and was awarded $5,500 with an additional $5,000 for running electricity and installing metering equipment so we can monitor exactly how much power we are consuming!

Hooray!

  1. Howdy!
i am interested in learning about what you are doing. I am in the process of starting a commercial aquaponics farm in Washington.
how big of a set up are you going to have?
    has work started on it?
of course this is if you are open to sharing info before its up and running.
    thanks

    • Hey!

Did you check out the main blog? http://www.greenaquaponics.org pictures and updates on the project are posted there. We are midway in the construction process. Alot will be happening over the next two weeks. The system is 2500 gallons and 600 dedicated to aquaculture. Where is your farm located? Do you have a website? Thanks for the comment!
